How to Draw Tipple, Step by Step
Tipple is a cluster of small circles (orbs) in different sizes with the space between them filled black. It is a quick way to fill a background and makes everything around it look brighter.
Step 1 of 4
Draw a few larger circles scattered across the area.
Watch it draw stroke by stroke, pause on any step, then try it yourself on paper.
Tipple step by step
- Step 1
Draw a few larger circles scattered across the area.
- Step 2
Fill around them with medium circles that nearly touch their neighbours.
- Step 3
Tuck small circles into every gap that is left.
- Step 4
Fill all the space between the circles with black.
Tips for a neat Tipple
- Draw each circle in one stroke and close it where you started.
- Keep the circles from overlapping so the black background has clean shapes.
- Fill the black with small strokes along the circle edges first, then the middle.
Variations to try
- Skip the black fill and add a dot in the center of each circle.
- Use only tiny circles for a sandy texture.
