How to Draw Cadent, Step by Step
Cadent is a grid of small orbs connected by S-curves, first across and then down. The curves weave around the orbs and turn a rigid grid into something that seems to ripple.
Step 1 of 3
Draw a grid of small orbs, evenly spaced.
Watch it draw stroke by stroke, pause on any step, then try it yourself on paper.
Cadent step by step
- Step 1
Draw a grid of small orbs, evenly spaced.
- Step 2
Connect each orb to the one beside it with an S-curve, row by row.
- Step 3
Connect each orb to the one below it with an S-curve, column by column.
Tips for a neat Cadent
- Make all the horizontal S-curves bend the same way, then all the vertical ones the same way.
- Start and end each curve on the edge of an orb, not in its center.
- Pencil the orb positions first if you want an even grid.
Variations to try
- Fill the orbs black.
- Add a second, echoing S-curve beside each one.
