How to Draw Florz, Step by Step
Florz is a diagonal grid with a small diamond on every place the lines cross, then filled black. It looks like a tiled floor and works almost anywhere.
Step 1 of 4
Draw evenly spaced diagonal lines in one direction.
Watch it draw stroke by stroke, pause on any step, then try it yourself on paper.
Florz step by step
- Step 1
Draw evenly spaced diagonal lines in one direction.
- Step 2
Cross them with diagonal lines in the other direction to make a diamond grid.
- Step 3
Draw a small diamond centred on every crossing.
- Step 4
Fill each small diamond with black.
Tips for a neat Florz
- Make all the small diamonds the same size; that consistency is what makes Florz look neat.
- Draw the small diamonds' sides parallel to the grid lines.
- Turn the tile so each diagonal set feels like a vertical line when you draw it.
Variations to try
- Leave the diamonds white and fill alternate grid cells instead.
- Replace the diamonds with small circles.
